Guidance on national notification and registration procedures

Through close contacts with government officials and national expert networks we can guide companies through the various national notification and registration procedures for different food categories.

While notification or registration  of certain food categories is mandatory across the EU (eg. foods for special medical purposes), differing national laws apply for certain other categories (eg. food supplements and fortified foods), and these requirements must then individually be taken into consideration.

EAS supports manufacturers to:

  • understand different national procedures and timings for product launch
  • compile the necessary data for marketing their food products in different Member States. This can vary nationally from the submission of just the product label to submitting an elaborated dossier substantiating the safety and stability of the ingredients as well as the nutritional and physiological effect of the final product.

We help companies to improve the quality of their dossiers, and thereby increase the chances of product acceptance by national authorities.
