EFSA publishes data requirements for assessment of food additives

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published a statement clarifying the type of data that is necessary for the safety assessment of food additives.

The statement can be found on the EFSA website. It will be considered by the Commission when it finalises the relevant legislative measures for the evaluation and authorisation of food additives, which it is expected to do by the end of 2010 following a public consultation.
